On Thursday Massimo seemed to turn another corner. In the morning he was giggly and smiley with the nurses and had plenty of smiles left over for me. We had a bit of the session with the physiotherapist and the occupational therapist in the morning, followed by a quick nap, then more smiles and playing with Daddy who popped in after lunch. Playing with Mummy, another nap at tea time, then even more smiles and playing with both Daddy and Mummy in the evening. It has been wonderful and amazing. On the technical side his ASB was switched off at around lunch time on Thursday and he seems to be coping brilliantly without it. They have decided not to fiddle with his peep until next week.
Today I went on the hunt for birthday presents and although I bought a fair few little things, the great big 1st birthday pressie that I was looking for didn’t find anything that really inspired until I found the demonstration model of a “walkaround exerciser” (as they call it in Mothercare!) but they didn’t have any actually for sale! So Justin and I are off bright and early to peruse the big Mothercare on the Purley Way in search for the wee man’s very important birthday present. Then back to PICU to blow up balloons, put up banners and generally get ready for a PARTY!
