Care Assistant at The Children’s Trust
These are children whom we love,
for all their changing needs
from changing bums to playing with,
And all their special feeds.
These children are individuals,
They’re different every one
And ‘cause the staff are much the same,
Unloved ones there are none.
These children may be different
from others that we know,
But still they have their feelings too,
And theses they often show.
These children are so very sweet,
They’re soft and gentle too,
And if you show them that you care
They’ll give something back to you.
Perhaps they cannot speak to you,
It doesn’t mean they’re dumb
‘Cause they can talk in other ways
Even just moving a thumb.
They also use their faces
To express the way they feel,
They also cry and scream sometimes
Like when they want a meal.
I’m going to close this little rhyme
And just before I end
I’ve got a message from my heart,
That I would like to send.
I love these children very much
I love their special ways,
I hope to get to know them more,
To know what each one says:
So I can give them all they need
And make them feel the best,
So when they go into the world
They’ll be just like the rest.
